Massage/Muscle Therapy is not a substitute for proper veterinary care. Massage/Muscle Therapy does not diagnose a problem. Please call your vet first if there are any questions regarding the soundness of your horse. Also, please realize that the most effective session will occur if I am able to evaluate your horses movement.
Sessions last about 45 minutes to 1 ½ hours.

Sports massage
Pre-event – intended to warm up tissues and stimulate the nervous system before an event. Usually performed within 24 hours prior to the event. Not intended to treat chronic issues or for horses that have not been introduced to massage before.
• Will travel for multiple horses and travel costs.

Post-event – to help remove the accumulation of metabolic waste due to muscle expenditure. This will bring fresh blood and oxygen to the area for decreased soreness and/or swelling. As well as decreasing adhesions and tightness in the muscles for increased flexibility and less chance of injury. Stretching is also beneficial for increased Range of Motion in the joints.
• Will travel for multiple horses and travel costs.

Rehabilitative Massage
Massage therapy is recommended during the rehab of soft tissue. Massage will decrease recovery time by decreasing stress, and increasing circulation of the circulatory and the lymphatic system throughout the body. This will get fresh blood and oxygen which is needed at the injury site to repair, and reduce any swelling or edema that may accumulate from lack of exercise.
Please let your vet know you are adding massage therapy to the treatment.
Call for treatment frequency.

Training schedule
Any athlete under a rigorous training program will accumulate stress and toxins in the muscular system. There is a greater chance of creating trigger points and soreness within the muscular system when there is an increase in physical output. If left untreated, there is more tension put on the tendons and muscles, increasing chance of injury. More frequent appointments will greatly improve the performance of your horse.
Weekly sessions would be recommended.
