Joy Campbell grew up around horses in Jupiter Florida. Growing up, she would volunteer her summers to work in barns for the trade of experience and riding lessons. Joy started her career over 12 years ago as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. In 1999 she completed a human massage therapy certification program and soon after moved to Charlotte, NC. By 2000 she became Nationally Certified in Massage Therapy and became licensed in NC. Since then she completed a 250 hour course and became certified in neuromuscular therapy. She is also a certified sports massage therapist, and has training in myofascial release, deep tissue, trigger point release, acupressure, hydrotherapy, stretching, reiki and reflexology. Joy taught massage therapy for 4 years at an accredited school in Charlotte.

Knowing that the horses’ anatomy is the same as ours, she began her quest for the best training in equine massage therapy. With a lot of 1-2 week certifying equine massage workshop, she knew she could not learn enough in that short amount of time. She decided on training by Mike Scott with Equine Massage Muscle Therapy. Within this course she was able to train with other reputable massage therapists, chiropractors, farriers, and saddle fitters. After completing a 250 hour course with Mike Scott, she has continued her equine training in advanced myofascial release for the horse, and has registered for LART (large animal rescue training) and Cruelty Investigation for the Equine.

After completing a 6 month course with Equine Massage/Muscle Therapy she has had continuing training in Myofascial Energetic with Mike Scott, a Cruelty Investigation Course for the Equine with the US Equine Rescue League, , Myofascial Release and TMJ Treatments for the equine with Jean Pierre Hourbebaigh, an Equine Cadaver Lab/Lecture @ Tufts University. She also works closely with Healing Horses, a local Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation Foundation.

She is a member of USERL, ABMP, IAAMB, and NCHC
